OUR MISSION

Fort Worth Elite exists to develop young athletes in the West Fort Worth community through basketball by teaching fundamental skills, teamwork, discipline, faith, and sportsmanship. We strive to build confident leaders on and off the court while providing a safe, positive, and competitive environment for growth at an affordable cost.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Grades

We offer teams based on the current grade level of the athlete. We have teams for current 3rd - 11th grade boys.

Seasons

We offer teams year around in the fall, winter, spring, and summer. Tryouts for the upcoming seasons will be listed on the website. All players must register and attend tryouts.

Leagues and Tournaments

Our teams compete in leagues at Game On Sports Complex. We also compete in local tournaments in Aledo, Weatherford, White Settlement, and Fort Worth.

Practice Times and Locations

Practices are held twice a week typically on Monday and Wednesday evenings. Our teams have two practice locations. One option is at Trinity Christian Academy Willow Park and the other is at Dalzell Athletic Center in Aledo.

Game Days

League and Tournament games are played on the weekends. There may be an occasional Friday evening game but for the most part games are Saturdays and Sundays.

Uniforms

The cost for uniforms is included in your team fees. Each player will receive a home and away color uniform, team shooting shirt, and backpack.

Extra Costs or Fees

For the Game On Sports league each player must pay a $35 annual membership fee directly to Game On Sports. You can also expect to pay game/tournament entrance fees that are anywhere from $10-$20 per person. Please take into account your own personal gas costs and food for yourself and your family.

PLAYING TIME

Coaches will allocate playing time on a game by game basis. For competitive basketball you should not expect 50/50 playing time. Our elementary grades operate as close to equal playing time as possible; but our older grades (7-11) allocate playing time based on practice attendance and skill level.

PARENT/SPECTATOR CODE OF CONDUCT

Fort Worth Elite Basketball has implemented the following Sport Parent Code of Conduct for the important message it holds about the proper role of parents in supporting their child in sports. Parents should read and understand this prior to their children participating in our league. Any parent guilty of improper conduct at any game or practice will be asked to leave the sports facility and be suspended from the following game. Repeat violations may cause a multiple game suspension, or the season forfeiture of the privilege of attending all games.

1. I will learn the rules of the game and the policies of the league.

2. I (and my guests) will be a positive role model for my child and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, officials and spectators at every game, practice or other sporting event.

3. I (and my guests) will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, or parent such as booing and taunting; refusing to shake hands; or using profane language or gestures.

4. I will not encourage any behaviors or practices that would endanger the health and well being of the athletes.

5. I will teach my child to play by the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence.

6. I will demand that my child treat other players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect regardless of race, creed, color, sex or ability.

7. I will teach my child that doing one’s best is more important than winning, so that my child will never feel like a failure no matter the outcome of a game or his/her performance.

8. I will praise my child for competing fairly and trying hard, and make my child feel valued no matter the outcome of the game.

9. I will never ridicule or yell at my child or other participants for making a mistake or losing a competition.

10. I will respect the officials and their authority during games and will never question, discuss, or confront coaches at the game, and will take time to speak with coaches at an agreed upon time and place.
